John Deere 9.0L / 6090 Valves

March 2, 2023

The intake and exhaust valves appear to be exactly the same (PHOTO A). However, installing them in the incorrect location can create a costly mistake. They must be identified and installed in the correct positions as the material composition may affect the operation and length of service.

Although color markings may vary, Maxiforce valves can be distinguished by the “dimple” on the valve head, (PHOTO B). The exhaust valve, TR520224, which is made of non-magnetic material has a smaller dimple than the intake valve. The intake valve, TR520223, is made of magnetic material and has a larger dimple than the exhaust valve.

Hope you find this helpful on your next John Deere 6090 engine model valve replacement.
